After the rain

Despite the woes of unharvested crops  in soggy fields, the majority of our country remains very wet however at the moment, unflooded. We’ve had about 5,000 acres under water twice now yet putting our crop losses aside it really is a brillaint season. Yesterday was our  first sunny day in about ten and its a schedule that the weather Gods appear to be sticking too at the moment: Cue northwest cloud band, downpour (usually a minimum of 30 mil), ten days of cloud, one day of sun and then we start all over again. It really is A Changing Land. (update: At 5pm yesterday we had another 22mils). Changes are afoot in all directions it seems with my next novel, A Changing Land, having just had its publication date pushed forward to March. In the scheme of things it doesn’t really matter however if you’re ‘out bush’ and you’re hoping to tour in April only having just discussed with the ‘team’ realistically the time away required, it does tend to lead to alot of reshuffling. Luckily after a couple of ‘how’s this going to work’ days everything has settled itself and much of the tour is in the process of being confirmed as I write this. In other news David and I have a new puppy, however I’ll save Toto’s (yep-that would be the Yellow Brick Road variety)  introduction for tommorrow. Happy trails…
