If you have ever breathed in the early morning air and just felt grateful to be alive you already know I’ve had a great morning. After weeks of travelling it’s great to stop for a while. Breathe, relax… contemplate. The sky was duck egg blue early this morning, the lawn dewy and sparkling and Toto my eager collie was already out the gate and rushing head long into a day growing bright. Only 400 metres down the dirt road and Toto was off after a couple of kangaroos. She dashed through the belah scrub looking quite impressive as her still maturing hind legs extended out behind her. The roos picked up their pace, there was a screech of white cockatoos, wings spread wide as they breasted air and then Toto’s lone bark. Minutes later she trotted happily out of the scrub, assumed her favourite position – on point, commando style (a habit no doubt picked up from pressing her nose against the screen door so she too can watch Austar when David is watching war movies)  and we continued on into a morning bright with hope. Considering the turmoil in the world at the moment – both natural and man made, we are all extremely lucky to be living in Australia.
