David walks back over bridge

We awoke in the middle of the night to torrential rain. Luckily it only lasted a few minutes however we recieved about 12mils or 44 points in the old scale. The river which we hoped would start to go down went up another inch over night and it’s started showering again. A neighbour has just telephoned to tell us that our access road has been cut by flood water on another section which now makes it 5 lots of water to cross for me to get to the main homestead. I was going over there today to see Mum and Dad and do some work in the office however I think I’ll save the walk through the flood water for tomorrow. I have a crop trading meet to attend around lunch time in Goondiwindi and a food shop to do. We’re all starting to get ‘cabin fever’. We had a BBQ next door with friends on tuesday night (they like us are inside the cotton levee bank) and David and I enjoyed another BBQ last night. The sandflies gave us a window of about 30 mins before they devoured us.
