If you are a woman involved in agriculture or you reside in a regional or remote area then the upcoming River of Life conference at St George, QLD in September (5th-7th) may be of interest to you. This year The Queensland Rural, Regional & Remote Women’s Network has joined forces with Australian Women In Agriculture to host a joint conference. There is no doubt this is pegged to be a major event – and the largest gathering of rural, regional and remote women, with the initial conference facility at St George already changed to a larger centre in order to accommodate the large number of conference delegates expected.

The program for the conference literally does have something for everyone. The keynote speaker is the ABC’s award winning former Foreign Correspondent, Sally Sara, who will also be interviewing ‘inspiring women’ onstage in a series of ‘spotlight conversations’. Tai chi, meditation and river walks begin the days which are packed with information sessions, trade displays and a variety of workshops. Even the most workshopped workshopper will find something stimulating in the program of events.

Do check out the conference program and if you would like to attend this great event or you know of someone who would like to attend, take advantage of the early bird booking specials which end at the end of this month. I’m certainly looking forward to the event. What a great way to discuss the issues affecting ‘us gals’ while networking, learning and generally having fun. Did I mention there’s also a Gala Dinner on the thursday night? See you there.
