It’s about time that NSW regional and rural voters had a bigger say ahead of the March 28th State election, don’t you think so?  So does NSW Farmers.  They have created StandupforFarmers, a campaign giving country NSW voters a greater voice enabling them to shine the spotlight on issues impacting rural and regional communities. If you head to the website you can raise your own issues and rate the performance of your politicians.

Since launching in February the site has generated 20,647 Page views while there have been 2,517 ratings of MPs.

Let’s get people acknowledging the fact that NSW regional and rural areas are  important economic contributors to our state.

As campaign spokesperson and CEO of NSW Farmers Matt Brand said: ‘Too often they are taken for granted. Their economic interests, local infrastructure and community needs all deserve focused investment.”

The campaign combines regional events, grass roots activism, digital channels, social media and word of mouth to mobilise farmers and those in country NSW to stand up, shout out and be heard.

StandupForFarmers is powered by NSW Farmers, a membership based organisation that advocates on behalf of farmers in NSW and ACT. The association is not aligned to any candidate or political party.

Election day is Saturday 28 March 2015. You can learn more about the #Standup4Farmers campaign by visiting http://www.standupforfarmers.com.au/
