Last post from guest blogger Brooke Alexander. Discovering Uniqueness is all about Mr Frost’s poem. It’s the perfect analogy for many of us, who have a particular view on life/career/ideas/business/the world. The poem itself consists of four stanzas. In the first stanza, the speaker describes his position. He has been out walking in the woods and comes to two roads, and he stands looking as far down each one as he can see. He would like to try out both, but doubts he could do that, so therefore he continues to look down the roads for a long time trying to make his decision about which road to take.
Most of the time our greatest obstacle to our uniqueness is in making the decision to be unique. We stand there, like Mr Frost for a long time trying to decide what our uniqueness or point of difference actually is. It’s the number one obstacle that business owners face in trying to discover their point of difference, their angle, their uniqueness. Many *fear* making the wrong decision and thus they simply stand at the crossroads with their metaphorical ‘sign’ held up … ironically they are in the midst of traffic … but because their service/idea/solution looks just like everybody else they simply blend into the landscape. Overlooked, underpaid, undervalued.

Ultimately they miss out because their ‘offering’ looked just like everybody else. Do you need help discovering what your unique offer is? Click here to download my 5 questions you should ask yourself before you book your next appointment.
